Comments I went down to Cabo San Lucas on the Baja California for a week of diving. That's pretty much all I wanted to do - three to four dives a day, every day, all week. And that’s what I did, and I had a phenomenal time!

Went out with Sunshine Dive & Charter every day, for six days straight. Did three dives a day, and two night dives.

Amazing wild life! When my guide and I followed a stray ray into the blue after starting the dive at Neptun’s Finger we found an entire school of devil rays, caught up with them, and then hung at 25 m (80 feet) while they were circling us for five minutes. An absolutely amazing experience, being in the middle of the blue away from the wall surrounded by this school of rays – just unforgettable.

Another amazing dive was when we went out to Gordo Bank, went down to 30 meters (100 feet), and Lars (the owner/operator) eyed a hammerhead. We followed it down to about 40m, and hit upon a whole school of hammerheads, at least 75 of them, about another 20m down (obviously we didn’t go there). We saw them on both dives that we did there!

Other dives were just as fun, we often went out to Lands End (right past the famous arch), where a large school of mackerels was enjoying a day in the sun, and watched the sea lions hunt. Even the safety stops were great, Pelican Rock for instance is a snorkel paradise, and the safety stop there was always literally in the middle of a huge swarm of tropical fish of every size and color. Pure joy!

Sunshine Dive & Charter is run by Lars Helten, an extremely experienced Instructor and Dive Operator who's run dive shops from the Maldives to Bali. He's the only one in Cabo providing free Nitrox on any dive (he can as he supplies all the other dive shops). He and the instructors and dive masters he works with are top-notch, the entire operation runs smoothly and efficient, he’s flexible and accommodating, knows the area and everybody in the business very well, and is lots of fun to dive with.

I can definitely recommend him and his shop to anybody, from beginners to the most experienced divers. He’ll find just the right dive!

Go down there and dive ... :)
