Comments This is my third time doing this dive trip. We did 3 areas: Cabo Pulmo, La Paz and this year added loreto. The weather was great until we got to loreto, then a storm which wiped out one day. Loved the wall in loreto and to come back next year and spend time there.

The plethora and diversity of life is fabulous. There are gentle currents, bull sharks, schools of thousands of snappers and other fish to swim with, ship wrecks and a wonderful wall in loreto. Good diving hotels (no 5/4star hotels except for mision hotel in loreto which was a 4 star). There is a 5 star hotel in la paz but way out of the action of the main town We stay in La perla which is a great diving hotel.

Positives overwhelm the Negatives. Lots of driving from cabo san lucas to cabo pulmo to la paz to loreto but I think it is a fun adventure. Mayo, our fabulous guide, handled everything and did all the driving.

Water Temperature tops at 80 degrees and can dip into the low 70's for small amounts of time in the ship wrecks of La Paz . I think an average is 78 is fair which is a little cold for my older body but remember I will do it again and again because it is worth it to me. Also visibility from the plankton is restricted but it is still worth it. And mexico is really hot in august and September but we had air conditioning in all hotels. Cabo Pulmo is a eco resort and you can buy air conditioning for 30 dollars a day and it is moderately successful but tolerable.

Mayo is the best person to organize and lead the tour. He is exceptionally skilled, a very fun person and will make your tour a 10. mayohinojosa@gmail.com
We are more experienced divers but he accommodates our partners, who only snorkel, when they come and they have a blast.

His rate is on top of all the diving that he arranges (he gets discounted rates) and sometimes he needs you to get him a room if there is no friend to stay with but he is well worth the cost.

I dove with Mayo on the Rocio del Mar a few years ago and he is amazing!
