Comments It's hard to say anything bad about this remote dive destination. We didn't go to the only dive resort there, I booked our group adventure via Pilu and Henri (dive operators), and the eco casitas they manage there. Don't expect all the amenities of a major dive resort and don't whine about no a/c. Deal with it, for the best off the grid experience this place has to offer. There's much more from a great adventure than a/c.

This is a hidden gem away from major diver traffic, and they like it that way, but they also need tourism to fuel their economy. This is a village with no electricity, so everything is solar powered, but if you manage your resources, there's power for lights, fans, refrigerators, ice makers (required for margaritas), and battery charging stations. And there's always some wifi you can find, and some mobile phone carriers have free data in Mexico.

For the marine park, they operate by strict rules, and they enforce and protect this fragile reef system. Play by the rules, and there's plenty to enjoy. Where else can you find a tropical reef system, with marine life you would expect, plus bull sharks, mobula rays, and sea lions. And, without a doubt, this may be the largest school of big eyed jacks found anywhere.

We dove for 6 days, and 17 dives, and it was different than you would expect from the Caribbean. But, we were not in the Caribbean, we were diving the Pacific, and the Sea of Cortez. We'll do it again, so stay tuned, and follow my webpage for other exciting trips.
