Comments We have dove and traveled all over the world. I have to say that Siladen Resort is one of the best and nicest resorts I have ever stayed at. The grounds are beautiful. The food is 5 star! The room was wonderful.

After a wonderful week diving in Lembeh, we returned to the Manado airport to be picked up by the van for Siladen Resort. We were driven to a pier in Manado and boarded a boat for the resort which was about a half hour boat ride. There is no pier at the resort so the boats usually just pull up to the beach in front of the hotel and let you off. Siladen resort is situated on Silden Island which is in Bunaken National Marine Park, which is north of Manado.

Many thanks to the gracious managers, Miguel and Anna. They made our stay a joy. Now to the diving. There is some muck diving in Siladen, but there are also many walls which are home to a lot of sea life including large turtles. There are so many incredible critters to see out here. I am still reviewing my video to remind myself.

As for the food...I don't know how they do it. Remember this resort is on an island. Any food they need and consume has to be brought here by boat. Breakfast is served in the open air covered restaurant. It is buffet style. There is an omlet bar where they make your made to order omelet. There are homemade pasteries, pancakes, fruit etc and great coffee. Lunch and dinner are served at tables on the beach. The food was plentiful and excellently prepared. Totally amazing.

The only hitch was on our return flight from Singapore to Manado. The plane which was supposed to pick us up in Manado had run into some bad thunderstorms and was diverted to the Philippeans for a 5 hour delay. We made it back to Singapore with minutes to spare before our flight home. We made it our luggage did not. At least it was the return flight so it didn't matter.

UW Photo Comments There is a whole dedicated photo building with a large photo room. It did get a bit crowded the last few days when a large group of Indonesian photographers and videographers showed up. They had more equipment than some movies I have worked on. But we all managed and this group had two dedicated dive boats so we never saw them once we got out on the water.
