Comments It's a very long trip to get here, especially from the East Coast of the US. From Jakarta, it's a four hour flight to Sorong followed by a three hour long, rather uncomfortable speed boat trip to the resort. The bungalows are on the water and nicely appointed in terms of furnishings. However, there is no air conditioning and the overhead fan is too small in comparison to the size of the room to do much good. There is also mosquito netting which is necessary that also restricts the air flow around you when you are sleeping. The first 2-3 nights of sleeping were miserable while you get used to having no A/C. We did ask for a small fan which we put next to the bed and that helped a tremendous amount. It can be a very long walk from the furthest bungalow to the restaurant and dive shop, so keep that in mind when booking (you may want to ask for a bungalow close to the pier and restaurant).

The food was good, but not great. One thing that was severely lacking was any kind of juice at breakfast. They did not even have any of the pasteurized bricks of juice that are sold all over Asia and there was an upcharge for fresh squeezed juice. The only thing that was out was a nasty tasting Tamarind juice which no one seemed to like as the container never seemed to be touched by anyone. When I mentioned this lack of juice to one of the European staff, it was met with a snarky reply that "a lot of people like the tamarind juice and it's very good for you." I realize that everything has to come in by boat, but it just felt that for the price everyone was paying to be there, the lack of juice and food variety could have been better. Camera room is very small and cramped if there are a lot of people with cameras.

Diving was fantastic with lots of variety. Saw lots of blue ring octopus, mantas and a huge variety of fish. Melissa's Garden is an absolutely stunning dive site. Some of the sites are quite a long boat ride away.

All in all, it was a great trip. We probably would not return as we just didn't feel like it was a good value for the price. For what we paid, there are lots of other places we want to go.
