Comments This resort is geared to photographers and nearly everyone there has a large camera rig. You are allowed to dive your own profile and set your own bottom times. Many of the dives end very shallow, so with the larger tanks, bottom times can extend to 80-90 minutes. This is muck diving. There are no corals and very few fish. But every single dive you will see critters that you have not seen before or did not even know existed. The staff to diver ratio is one dive guide to every 1-2 divers (some singles had their own guide. My husband and I were fine with one guide for two of us). The dive guides know their stuff and can identify everything you have seen by its scientific name. They note it on white slates so it's easy to take a photo of the slate when you surface. One thing to keep in mind is that Lembeh Strait is a busy shipping channel with villages on both sides. Because of this, trash is an issue. When you dive close to shore, it is not uncommon for the first 75-100 feet of the slope to be a trash field with old tires, bottles, sneakers, bicycles, etc. When you first descend, it looks like you have descended to a barren field of mud or sand. It's only when you start to look closely that you see the amazing bioversity that Lembeh is famous for.

As for the resort itself, the cottages are delightful, but most of them require climbing some stairs. I did not see the smaller beach side rooms, so I cannot comment on those. The staff is AMAZING. Just mention something and it is taken care of! My husband's hard drive bit the dust and on the next trip into town, a new one was purchased for him (we paid for it obviously). Food was delicious. Fresh juice smoothies every morning. Nice baked goods. Enough variety that it did not seem repetitive over 10 days. Also a great bartender! I cannot say enough great things about this resort.
