Comments We were picked us up at the airport in Sorong and transported to their boat, the Mandaran, for the 4 hour journey to the resort. We hit it with very calm seas, and the ride was very relaxing.

The resort was amazing! Absolutely beautiful!! There are 8 cottages, each with plenty of storage space, an outdoor bathroom, fans, mosquito netting (which is needed), and a huge veranda with lounge chairs to relax.

The restaurant is open aired; they do a great job with the meals given that the supplies are 4+ hours away by boat. The staff was very friendly and helpful.

They have a nice dive center, gear wash and places to store you wetsuits between dives. The dive schedule was 8AM, 10:45AM, and 2:15PM, with two night dives offered during our trip. There is unlimited shore diving on the house reef. Lauren and Sangut, the dive guides, were very knowledgeable, and we had a lot of fun with them. There are 2 boats that go out, they set up your gear for you, so all you have to do is show up to dive. Each group was 6 people, with the main dive guide and there were usually at least two other dive guides that went along on every dive. One dive it was just two of us with 3 dive guides!

The diving was spectacular. There huge schools of fish (way more than I expected) and the corals were very healthy, and the topography was very interesting. The highlight was the manta dive on Magic Mountain; it was a spectacular dive site! We hit is right at the end of the wet season and there had been lots of rain so the visibility was not as good as it could have been. But it was still an amazing place to dive. Occasionally we did fight some current, although the dive guides would normally re-adjust the direction if it was too much.

The resort has internet, although it was a bit slow, no cell service... but who wants that when you are in the middle of nowhere?!

I can’t say enough about the resort and staff, especially Andy, Thorben, Marit, Sasha... these were the main people who actually built the resort. The resort is so well built (all with driftwood) and thought out, and they are expanding. I was very impressed with the marine protected area that they established, it is a no take zone and the fact that they have rangers that patrol the area is very impressive. They take the preservation of the area very seriously and it is refreshing to see this.

I just wish I had been there for more than 7 days! It was well worth the long trip to get there. I highly recommend this resort and the diving!
