Comments This must have been a good boat at one point, and I suppose the same goes for the diving company that runs it. But both the boat and the company are experiencing evident difficulties.

We didn't have to board to notice things were amiss. Whereas other divers on our flight were picked up by staff from their diving operations, we were received by a local ramshackle taxi hired for the occasion. We were driven to an office that was extremely run down and, from the look of things, downright messy. Our baggage was dumped from a truck into a storage room. The nitrox wasn't ready.

Then we got to the boat (again by local water taxi) and some of us had no running water, the boat itself was messy and definitely not ready for new arrivals. Like the taxis, the diving staff --including the cruise director-- had been contracted from elsewhere just for this trip. Not surprisingly, they had trouble fielding questions about the boat and how things worked.

It's all very sad because the cruise director and his divemaster were outstanding and knowledgeable about the dive sites and currents, and couldn't have been more accommodating, even accommodating special requests. The dives themselves were fantastic.

The meals were ok, the crew really did their best with the lot they were given, as did the divers.

Back on the shore, again, we were supposed to be picked by a taxi that never showed up.

I really couldn't recommend the Monsa Lisa until Komodo Liveraboard(s) gets its act together. I honestly wish them well.
