Comments Gangga Island is a small island just North of North Sulawesi. There is a 1.5 hour drive to the dock and 15-20 minutes to the resort from there. Accommodations consist of a number of duplex villas with porch and furniture and your own beach spot with shaded area. Room was nice with good air conditioning and large bath. Meals are served in an open air dining room as part of the main lodge. You order your lunch and dinner during the previous meal. There are 3 or 4 choices and includes Indonesian dishes. All the meals were very good. The staff is very attentive and friendly.

The dive shop manager inquires each evening who is going to dive and you are assigned a boat and guide. When we arrived there were about twenty guests but for the last several days there were only two beyond our group of four. We dove off the same boat all week with Hermanos as our guide. One day we did a three tank trip to Bunaken Marine Park which entailed an hour and a half trip each way. The trip was worth it. Most other diving is within a 30 minute trip out. The afternoon dives are conducted closer to the resort.

There were currents at some of the sites which could switch during the dive. Our guide was able to minimize the amount of kicking against the currents.

We saw lot's of giant frogfish, cuttlefish, hairy frogfish and nudibranchs as well as the other usual sights in Indonesia. The reefs, corals and fish life looked in good shape.

We really enjoyed our stay and diving while at Gangga Island Resort.
