Comments We flew non-stop from EWR to SIN and then stopped off for four wonderful days in Singapore. Even though the Night Zoo is touted as one I the top experiences in Singapore I would skip it and just go to the zoo in the daytime. The hawker food is not to be missed.

Getting from Singapore to Manado(which is the closest airport to Lembeh) is not difficult, although you only have one choice of airline, which is the budget arm of Singapore Air called Scoot. It wasn't bad except for keeping us locked up in the packed transfer busses at SIN for 15 minutes because the plane wasn't ready to board. Once we got to Manado we were supposed to be picked up by the resort, but due to a mix up between our travel agent and the resort no one was there at the airport to pick us up. We finally got to the resort via taxi several hours later.

The resort is very nice. We had a lovely room. The food was good, but not spectacular. I seem to recall that they didn't serve a lot of fish for some reason. They also repeated entrees several times throughout the week. The food was served buffet style for the whole table. You did not get to chose your individual entree. The deserts were very good. I have to say that because of COVID the resort had been closed for some time and we seemed to be some of the first guests.

The diving was very good, but if my memory serves me correctly not as good as when we were last in Lembeh in 2009. We saw mimic octopuses, scorpion fis, clear cleaner shrimp, shortneose pipefish, pygmy seahorses, a coconut octopus, flamboyant cuttlefish, many nudibrancs, and a wonderful devil scorpionfish. All of the diving is by boat. The dive sites are maximum of 20 minutes away. The boats and crew were very good.

The only problem at the resort was noise. There was a building next to the resort, but not part of it, which seemed to be a catering facility. There were some late afternoons and early evenings when they would play extremely loud music over their sound system which was very disturbing to the guests at our resort. The owners of the resort tried to negotiate with this catering facility but we were told that there wasn't much they could do.
