Comments While in Jakarta we stayed at the FM7 resort. It is near the airport, offers a free airport shuttle, breakfast was included, ans a deluxe twin room cost $45/night.

Blue Manta was booked through Explorer Ventures in the USA. We were in cabin 7 on the Blue Manta, The accommodation offered twin beds, plenty of storage, and large bathroom. There were 23 crew for 21 divers. service was excellent. They put your gear on the dive tender, brought you your wet suit to your dive station. When you returned they helped you get out of your wet suit. They rinsed your wet suit and boots. Returned your boots to you and hung your wet suit up to dry.

The dive guides were excellent. Four divers to a guide who led the dive. All the divers back rolled off of a tender at the same time. When you surface with your dive guide, the tender approaches. You can hand up your camera, BC, fins, and weight belt and climb into the tender via a ladder on the stern. They did use a inflatable as a tender that did have a steep ladder.

Food was good and was a mixture of Indonesian and Western food.

The corals were relatively abundant and in good shape. There were white tip and black tip sharks and Hawks bill turtles on most dives.
At Manta Alley we observed at least 15 manta rays swimming in circles.
Eagle rays were fairly frequent. There were nudibranchs, Manta shrimp, pygmy sea horses and octopus and squid on some dives.

A lot of the diving was drift diving. The dive guides made every effort to keep you out of strong currents.

A land tour to see the Komodo Dragons was offered as part of the itinerary.
