Comments Had great experience with Bali Scuba. Very professional outfit took great care of the dives and divers. Also scheduled 2 dives with a smaller outfit but was a bit disappointed so if you're headed to Bali I would spend my dive money with this group you won't be disappointed.
Both of our dives were in Pendangbai, about and hour or so from Sanur. The drive was incredible as traffic is something you don't get to see every day. The drivers are incredible. Glad I didn't have to do the driving!
When you arrive at the boat site you'll order your lunch for after the dive. Then you head down and suit up. The boats are small outriggers with enough room for 4 on the smaller ones,6-8 on the larger boats. I didn't see any more than 3 divers to one DM/guide.
They stage the dives so that no one is really piling up or feeling like there are a lot of divers in the water at the same time(which there are!). Also, as each group gets back to the restaurant the shower is free for your group and lunch is ready! Like I said very nicely done and everything is inclusive with the dive rate for the 2 dives. If you bring your gear they provide a mesh bag and tag it with your name so nothing goes missing. When you get back they rinse your gear for you and repack it in your bag, if you brought one.
One nice thing about having a gear bag provided by them is they check and make sure before you leave the shop that you have everything you need to dive and fix you up if you have forgotten anything.
The kaMaya Resort was super nice and right around the corner from the dive shop. No tv but WiFi is available to those who cannot suffer a total electronic withdrawal. Rustic and very friendly. Shuttle service to town is available for free but airport shuttle is not. Airport shuttle is available for a fee, but is very reasonable. Mulley, our driver, retrieved us from the airport and also provided us a tour. He was very informative and my wife and I learned a lot even if parts of the tour were your basic tourist stuff. He was very good in letting us guide the tour towards the things we were interested in,then filling in the gaps with things he thought we might like. Which we did.
So if you want to dive Bali this was my first time there and while we didn't have a lot of time it was very good.
