Comments The resort looked nice on paper (website) but it was not as I expected. The dive sites were a 30 min boat ride, very rough when I was there, injured my back on the first day because I was put in the front of the boat and got tossed around, ending up on the floor of the boat. The boat driver and guide did nothing. IMHO they could have stopped the boat and let me crawl to the back. I hobbled around for the rest of the week. Once in the water I was fine.

The food was very marginal. Although there was a food request form to fill out there was little for me to eat with my food issues and they were surprised when I told them what I could not eat so the form obviously was ignored. Cabbage and fish for every meal or it seemed like every meal! The fresh bread was nice so I had a lot of peanut butter sandwiches.

This was a photo trip and the first couple of days we had lectures, which were very good. After that the lectures stopped since there was no time for the trip guide to give them, presumably due to the long boat rides. I was having a problem with my strobes so I spent afternoons trying to fix them, leaving me with no time for the afternoon dives. We had to soak our cameras in a tub in our showers as there were no camera facilities, staff carried my camera to my room.

Half way through the trip the resort manager came to me and told me that the boat rides were too rough and that I should not (could not)go. Although I had paid for the full 10 day trip, after being told I could only do shore dives (alone) I left after 7 days. My partial refund consisted of a credit of $500, which I doubt I will use.

The bungalows were very nice although some of us had insect problems; I did not have insects(country girls know how to keep insects out), mosquito coils were made available. No AC but cool breezes through the windows at night. It was a bit of a trek from the bungalows to the dining area through sand so not easy walking.

The beach was beautiful and walking on it delightful. If I had come to walk on the beach, see unusual insect life and lose weight I would have been happy.

I would not recommend this resort for anyone wanting comfort and good food. Since I had been to Alor on a few liveaboards I was not impressed by the diving, but a newbie to Indonesia would be pleased. If you are young and on a budget this might be a good place to go.
