Comments This is a very good resort and destination. I was interested mostly in macro and they found plenty of things of interest. (Strangely the pigmy seahorses were on vacation, and we did not see any of them. The guides checked the sea fans, but they were not there.) It is a tough journey to get there with over night flight from Jakarta. (I came a day early and stayed in the best hotel on the island, but it was not up to Western standards. It was OK except no hot water.) I did three dives a day,and sometiems four. Some of the things that I saw included ornate ghost pipe fish, other ghost pipe fish, spade fish, a good number of frog fish of varing sizes and kinds warty, painted, giant), tons of nudibranches, anaomine shrimp, sexy shrimp, wonderpus, rhinopisis, harliquin shrimp, harliquin crabs, gobies, blenies, mantis shrimp, cuttle fish, bobtail squid, white tip sharks, black tip sharks, mushroom pipe fish, pipe fish, sea snakes, ribbon eels, moray eels, spoted eels, whip coral gobies, whip coral shrimp, and many of the usual muck creatures. We did a number of dives at walls and other sites where the coal and fsih were very beautiful--even spectactuar. I was there btween full moon and new moon, and the curents were mild and water warm, except for one dive where the water temapature went into the high 60s. apparently at new moon and full moon the currents bring up very cold water. Then divers have seen more sharks, and Molo molo. Teh dive resort had wifi at the dining area, and it worked well most of the time. The meals were served communial style, so we waited for night divers in the evening and occasionally waited at lunch if the other boat got delayed. The food was good.

Enforced diving restrictions We sometimes had to limit the time of dives to 60 minutes because the resort waits to serve meals until both boats are back. Otherwise the dives were as long as we wished, up to maybe 75 minutes.

UW Photo Comments They have a nice camera room and Pete helped me enormously when I flooded my casing and then my strobe. (Not a good trip for my camera skills.)
