Comments We booked 5 days at the Alam Batu Bungalow Resort after spending 12 days diving Komodo from the Samambia liveaboard. I am generally not a muck diver so my "star ratings" should be viewed from that perspective. Most of our liveaboard trips (39 to date) each included a handful of muck dives, but we've never done an actual muck dive trip. But the Alam Batu really looked great and I decided to check it out and experience true muck diving.

The resort is a 3 to 4 hour drive from the Bali airport. The road is like a piece of twisted spaghetti with a hairpin turn about every 100 feet. I honestly don't think there was 10 feet of straight road, so if you are prone to car sickness, be warned. The resort is stunning.
