Comments Walk through of the cabin with note of life jackets and escape route. This cabin on main deck only had one escape via the lounge to dive deck. No emergency drill conducted. Dive deck had ample room to get geared up and to muck with cameras. As encountered on other boats since covid, crew preferred to measure oxygen (for nitrox) themselves with you watching. However as the trip progressed, the supplied meters got out of calibration. I recommend you bring your own, though I find that cost hard to justify with two trips a year, given how long a sensor lasts. Still, what price safety? All diving was done via rubber rib launches. Very short trips though; none longer than 10 minutes. The launch driver was attentive and quickly picked up early surfacers. Back roll entry and then a climb up a short ladder back into the dingy. If needed, the creww would lift your BC/tank separately. Dive masters were rotated amongst the group and varied between the experienced to highly experienced. Some were better than others at communicating finds. The most effective used a magnetic board with a quick phrase. In places where current was expected we would do a drift dive. If the intent was to dive an island or fixed location, the dive masters paid close attention to the current and turned us around when necessary. I did not feel like I was struggling at any point. The ship, though somewhat older, was perfectly functional. I would not hesitate to embark upon it again. This steel boat had a much safer feel to it than the wooden pinisi (sp?) I'd taken previously it Raja. Deck showers were hand hoses with a spray nozzle. The weather was good throughout so I can't say how it would handle heavy seas. The state of the fish & corals is much better than anywhere else I've been, both quantity and quality. Because of the long travel I recommend at least a 10 day trip.

UW Photo Comments There were dunk tanks for camera gear, torches, and dive computers. Crew would dunk cameras and then place them on the (large) camera tables. Or if you preferred you could handle it yourself. Dunk tanks were changed on at least a daily basis. Still saw an occasional mask in the tank which I'm pretty sure belonged to a guest.
