Comments Diving was beautiful with lots of healthy coral and colorful fish. Running video across the top of reefs got me some beautiful footage. Saw lots of different kinds of fish including many clown fish settled into anemones. Saw giant clams and many different kinds of nudibranch. Did not see any sharks on the reef dives, just beautiful reef life.
Never thought I would dive with sharks but made an exception here for reasons I cannot put into words. They have a "Shark Dive". When I came back from this dive I immediately signed up for another. They bait a box a couple of hours before you arrive so when you go down the area is filled with many different kinds of sharks and thousands of fish of many kinds. You kneel behind a short coral wall with a cliff at your back. Multiple Fijian divers are staged behind the tourists, standing on their fins. The sharks stay in the water column in front of you for the most part with the exception of the tiger sharks. Tigers come in to get hand fed by the Fijian diver in charge (right in front of you). They then make their rounds in front of the coral wall, over the top of the wall in your face and behind you. The tigers are more lethargic than I thought they would be and the Fijian divers are very skilled and comfortable grabbing them by the nose and steering them safely by you. I felt safe the whole time for some reason with 20' sharks swimming within a foot of me and came back absolutly amazed. On one dive I was 15' from the safety stop when I noticed a 20' tiger swimming by where I was going to hang on. A couple of Fijian divers shooed the tiger away as I watched and I did my safety stop. Every diver I spoke with was glad they did this dive.
The employees at the resort are all very friendly and we were well taken care of. Food was excellent. I did not shore dive but heard from experienced divers that it was excellent. Will go back if the opportunity presents itself even though the trip itself is very very long.

UW Photo Comments Camera buckets were onboard and rinse buckets were on shore. Deck hands were expecting to hand cameras down and take from divers as they board. They were careful.
