Comments This was my 9th trip to Cocos, 6th on the Sea Hunter. I had not been since the tiger sharks arrived in 2008. The tiger sharks were spectacular but there was widespread speculation among the guests that the tiger sharks were responsible for the paucity of marbled rays, turtles and silvertips.
The hammerhead population seems to be as healthy as ever. Mauelita, which at one time seemed to be the default dive, ok, but seldom great, is now my favorite. We saw not only tigers but lots of huge yellow fin tuna and large Galapagos sharks.
