Comments Good vis and warm water (I'm terrible about estimating distance and don't have a temp gauge) - I'm a wimp and wore a full 3mm, but most folks wouldn't need even a shorty. Tony and Katie basically run a private dive company - you dive with who you go with, no one else, so if you are a group of 2 it is the 2 of you and one of them and they are great. This also allows you to choose what profile you want to dive. We had had a bad experience in Brazil last time we dove and needed a relaxing, confidence building trip and we got it in spades. The deepest you can dive in the BVI is about 90 feet (on the Rhone - a must dive), but we basically stayed at 45 - 60 feet and since is was just us we went slow and looked in every crack and crevice and found all sorts of small stuff we never took the time to see. However, that didn't stop us from stumbling across 2 (my husband insist 3, but Katie and I didn't see the 3rd)HUGE nurse sharks, plus we had 2 close encounters with spotted eagle rays - funny - if you aren't with 99 other people you can hang quietly with the denizens. I think we were over an hour on almost every dive, there is certainly no rushing - you are their only priority. I highly highly recommend these folks, they run a first class operation and are actively involved with the dive and environmental community. The private diving is a little more expensive, but not outrageous and was well worth it for us. This is our 3rd time in the BVI and we love it - it's not heart racing, challenging diving, but it is beautiful and relaxed.
