Comments Conflicted about this review because the boat was wonderful (with some issues) and crew lovely (with some issues). Overall, I was pleasantly surprised. But there were definitely some issues that call for some polishing of this gem (so to speak). We were a group of 4: 2 divers & 2 non-divers (1 of whom did discover scuba). We chose this trip for its variety of water activities. With relatively little info, didn't know what to expect. Was pleasantly surprise with some issues.

THE GOOD @ the boat:
Spacious, including cabins & en suite bathrooms (though #3 and #8 were noticeably smaller with less storage; skip these if you can). Bathroom all-in-one (combined shower room, full-sized toilet & sink). It was a treat not to have to deal with a marine head. Excellent storage in cabin #4 (and similar ones #5, 6, 7): lots of shelves, 4 under bed storage drawers, under bed storage for suitcases, above bed shelf.

THE BAD @ the boat:
Air conditioning insufficient. It's really warm in the cabins. Each bed has a fan that needs to be on highest speed to cool down at night. Unpacking & packing was a pouring sweat sauna-like affair (not ideal for starting or ending a trip). Unlike other liveaboards I've been on that are arctic cold, Cuan Law is not. If temperature is important when you sleep, this is not for you. Also, the indoor salon (with no doors to outside/open to outside deck) was quite warm. No way to close doors to cool it down. So, while the outdoor deck had shade, if no breeze, could be quite warm during the day/when not in/on the water.

While told to limit our water usage for showers, I took cool showers & didn't run out of water. If you want a hot shower, beware.

THE GOOD @ the crew/communication:
Lovely, lovely people. Onboard crew young & passionate about delivering great service & a great experience (for the most part). The current chef was leaving & overlapping with the new. Of the 6 crew members, 3 were really experienced divers (2 DMs & captain), while the other 3 were newer divers. Hospitality was a priority.

THE BAD @ the crew/communication:
Payment was a headache. We booked directly through Cuan Law, not All Star Liveab ... Subscribe to get the full story. For Subscribers Only  Active subscribers continue reading here
