Comments this is some of the best fresh water diving in the midwest! the water can be cold the deeper you go, but the vis is great!usually in the 75-100 ft range..never seen vis less than 50ft!no boats or motors to worry about.also has separate beach for swimming.the max depth is about 350ft so you see alot of tech diving for thoise who are trained.this was an open iron quarry that is spring fed.there is a winding roadway following the outside underwater edge so your depth is pretty easy to control.the bottom terrain is varied with alot of "wall" diving!has a huge underwater "forest" that is ghostly to dive in..also alot of huge boulders to swim around..several buoyed training platforms underwater.very clean, also restrooms and campsites on site. easy "walk in" shore entries.a good selection of reasonable motels and restaurants.also air and nitox available. our bunch dove both wet and dry suits and all stayed comfortable.DUI holds their drysuit demo day there.
