Comments I have been diving in Boynton Beach, West Palm, and Jupiter for a little over 10 years and frequently use one of five operators I am very familiar with. On this trip, wind and seas were up, limiting diving to West Palm. My usual operator was out, having some work done on the boat, and they referred me to Walker’s Dive Charters. I’m very glad they did, I now have another great operator to add to my list.

Walker’s boat, The Wetter the Better is a roomy, stable, spotlessly clean, 36 footer with a 14 foot beam. I went out with Captain Bill Walker on both days. On the 1st day, Michelle was the DM. On the 2nd day, Michelle was back again, along with a second DM. unfortunately, I did not get her name. All three were very professional and ran a tight ship. At the same time they were friendly and personable. Dives are limited to an hour. You may stay with the DM and flag or ascend on your own SMB. Beverages and fruit are available.

Day 1: 1st dive was Governor’s River Walk. We had 2 Bull Sharks, a Lemon Shark, and a couple of Goliath Grouper. The water temp was 72 degrees, I got cold in my full 5 mm and 5/3 mm hooded vest. The 2nd dive was at South Double Ledges, a nice, relaxing time. We has a couple of Nurse Sharks, Green Morays, and all the usual reef fish.

Day 2: 1st dive was back to South Double Ledges, 2nd dive was North Double Ledges. We saw a couple of turtles, severally eels, all the usual reef fish. A gorgeous Queen Triggerfish decided to swim with me for at least 10 minutes. I switched to my full 7 mm with the 5/3 mm hooded vest and was comfortably warm this day.

I had a really great time with Walker’s Dive Charters and was grateful to get out on these 2 days. I will definitely be using them again when we are all able to travel and dive following the Covid-19 pandemic. In addition, they offer black water drift diving, I’m going to give that a try

UW Photo Comments I did not take my camera on these trips. There is a roomy camera rinse tub. The crew was very careful with the one camera I saw them handling.
