Comments We did the Diver’s Dream at Le Reve, Wynn Las Vegas and what a magical experience! The Diver’s Dream package included two nights stay in a suite at the Wynn, the VIP Indulgence treatment at Le Reve, a backstage tour, an orientation dive in the Dream Theatre pool, and a dive during a live performance of Le Reve. Our suite in the Encore Tower was beautiful with an awesome view of the Strip, a living area, and a separate bedroom with a huge bath. The Wynn had wonderful choices of eating establishments and everything we had was delicious. The service from the doorman all the way to check out was top-notch. On Friday, we had the VIP Indulgence treatment which included two tickets to the show, Le Reve; seating in oversized, plush seats with a video monitor for behind-the-scenes views; and champagne, chocolate-covered strawberries, and truffles with a personal server to keep the champagne glasses topped off. The view from the VIP seats was magnificent and the show was fabulous. The performers showed such talent and athleticism. They were great swimmers and gymnasts. I couldn’t wait for Saturday to arrive, so we could experience the magic from beneath the water. Saturday morning, we were given a two-hour backstage tour and learned all about the intricate workings that went into the production of the aquatic show. Next, we took an orientation dive of the Dream pool. We saw the hydraulics involved in lifting the stage, the energy chains and caissons, the speakers, bubble diffusers, and props. We swam through the tunnels that the performers used to enter the pool and watched the dive team get everything in place for the evening performance. The 27 foot deep pool was 1.1 million gallons of chlorinated fresh water. Much of our dive was spent under overhead environments and in tight spaces. During the performance, the lights were out, so it may not be suitable for divers who are extremely claustrophobic. That night we were taken to our private dressing room to prepare for our dive. While waiting for the rest of the dive team backstage, we met many of the performers. We sat through the pre-show dive briefing, learning who was performing and which acts had been cut, and then followed the dive team into the pool. Our guide took us to the best spots for viewing the show. As the lights dimmed and the music started, we could feel the excitement all around us. Performers waved at us as they swam by and dive team members offered up fist pumps. Watching the show from underwater was incredible. Two hours felt like just a few minutes and before we knew it, our Diver’s Dream experience was over. Before leaving, we were given SDI Specialty Certifications in "Dream Diving." We were treated like royalty the entire weekend. This is an experience I would highly recommend to certified divers looking for something out of the ordinary.
