Comments I've been diving with JDC several times. They're one of the better dive ops in the West Palm Beach area. On a recent trip about a month after Maria, they called us to tell us that the boat was cancelled on Thursday, and on Friday they told us the seas were 3 to 5 feet and let us push back to Saturday. (OK, I've dove in 5 foot seas, but these Florida boats are not designed for these conditions.)

Saturday was decent diving, but the seas were 3 feet max. But the boat (like all the others I dove with in that area) doesn't throw out a tag line to hang on while waiting your turn to get into the boat. So we had to hold onto the back deck as it went up and down.

Not JDC, but if you want shore diving the Blue Herron Bridge in Phil Foster Park is really great. You are diving in the intercostal water way around pilings for the Bridge. Lots of little stuff. How did that octopus get in the discarded soda bottle?

The trick is timing the JDC boat dives with an hour before high tide at the Bridge. Nature doesn't always wait for us divers.
