Comments The coral reef was damaged by hurricanes, but is begining to recover. The coral formations are undercut which gives divers a lot of places to investigate. Abundance of tropical fish, lobsters, eels. Not a lot of soft coral and vegitation. Dive Key West was fantastic! All dive sites were described in detail (most of the times with drawings). Boat was great, had plenty of room, not overcrowded, easy entry and exit. Crew would change tanks and gear between dives, while the divers relax and rehydrate and eat fruit. Pressure gauges were checked before and after dive, time in and out of water was also recorded in the captains dive log. Boat was equipped with all necessary safety gear, including oxygen and a diver recall system for emergencies. At shop was a wash basin for all gear, you can also hang your dive gear at the shop overnight, so you do not have to take it back to your hotel/condo.
