Comments Turks and Caicos is a beautiful island. Friendly people safe to travel and a lot of fun even though they drive on the wrong side of the road.
Very pricy-a 6 pack of regular beer is $25. We ate breakfasts in our apartment and about 1/2 the lunches and dinners and my bill at the grocery store was $550 for 1 week. A meal out ran $100 just for like burgers or tacos. Not complaining-just saying.
Since my wife cannot dive-bad ears I do just one dive on a boat during the week but snorkel several times a day. We were near Beaches resort and there was a reef right in front. Just short walk but easy to snorkel. However a short 5 minute drive to Smiths Reef and a 300 meter walk was fantastic snorkeling from the beach. 50 meters off shore was a reef 100 x 50 meters I saw many sea turtles and 8 eagle rays in a 1 hour snorkel. healthy coral and many fish. I went there 4 or 5 times during the week. Few, people around big dollar homes-that is why so few people.
On my day to dive we went out and dove to about 60 feet turtles rays a sand shark-which I did not see and alot of fish.
However on our slow meander to the next dive site we were surrounded by at least 100 dolphins the whole time. Jumping ,chasing smacking their tails. Several other boats came around to enjoy it with us. Next thing you know a humpback whale and her calf breeched right next to the boat. We then followed at a distance for the next 1/2 hour. What an experience-the surface show was the best I have ever seen. Made for one of my best dive experiences ever.
