Comments Voted by Diver Magazine as the #1 spot in the Caribbean for "Critters" and #10 in the world. Designated as the "Critter Capital of the Caribbean" and they have the critters to prove it. Large fish are found on the Grenadine Islands but for small fish and critters, the Leeward side of the big island is the place to dive. Dive St Vincent has been in operation since the 1980's and there Is no one better to show you the dive sites. I don't work for the dive shop but I do now live here and ben diving with them since 2003. I dive 2-3 times a week and I'm still able to find critters that I have never seen before. The shop is old and poorly maintained by the owners but you don't come for the shop, you come to dive. Diving is slow and relaxed. No need to hurry, On many of the dive sites, you could spend and hour and not get to far from the boat. For diving conditions, you will probably at some time during your stay encounter sun, wind, rain, clouds, calm water, choppy, surge, currents and no current. Come during the rainy season and you get wetter than the dry season. Come during the full moon, you will expect more currents. There are 2 dive boats and dive parties are encouraged. They are not live aboard. They have a fresh water rinse for cameras and that is about it. The shop is not equipped for them either. Camera setup and repairs are done in your hotel room. There are 5 hotels within walking distance of the shop. Water temp in the summer is from 82-86 and in the winter 78-81. If you don't want to mess with bringing gear, the dive shop will provide everything but a dive computer.
