Comments I have been coming to the island for 10 years and now stay with a friend. I am a macro photographer who has been all over the world, and there is no better spot in the Caribbean for this type of photographer than St Vincent.

That being said, this destination is best for the self-sufficient, experienced diver who looks after their own gear and camera equipment. If something breaks down, you are pretty much out of luck although the dive shop can loan you rental gear. Otherwise, bring backups.

The island is much easier to access these days with a direct flight on American out of Miami. This is my preferred route but make sure you have a decent layover period so you luggage makes it on the plane. There is currently only one American flight a week to the island.
