Comments This was our 6th trip to Anse Chastanet, one of the most incredible resorts we've stayed at with excellent diving for the Caribbean. No coral bleaching, lots of fish life, few lionfish, healthy corals, great boats, service, food and rooms. Good house reef, but it has been overused lately by day trippers compared to our prior visits. If you are diving, stay at the "beach" rooms which are only 50 yds from the Dive Center, have AC and face a lovely garden. The other rooms are a hike up the hill but have beautiful views, but not all have AC. There are 100+ steps up to the main restaurant from the beach (they will shuttle you ) the only choice for breakfast and also there is a dinner restaurant there that is a little fancier and a vegetarian restaurant. But you can go anywhere in shorts and a Tshirt if you want. But we like the beach restaurants best for lunch and dinner with many Indian and Caribbean themed dishes. Two gorgeous black sand beaches, one right there at Dive Center and the other a 10 min walk or boat shuttle away with a burger restaurant on the beach. Dive staff are all longtime employees and they provide great service, are fun and safe. Lots to do for non-divers or after diving: mountain biking, nature hikes, day trips to drive in Volcano and hot springs, hike the Pitons, explore the little town of Soufriere, chocolate making and tasting, gourmet cuisine classes, make your own art projects, kayaking, windsurfing, snorkeling or BEST- just lay on the beach under a palm frond palapala. Dive Staff haul all your gear on and off the boats, you need to rinse all but BC's. Places to hang to dry on large racks moved inside at night and small locked "cubbies" for each divers small stuff for the day or entire trip. Set dive schedule all week (unless currents interfere) so you can sign up for dives you want. Generally 3 boat dives and one shore dive a day. Check out dive required for first timers. Dive sites are 5-10 mins away except mediocre double wreck dive done on Fridays which is 25 mins north.
