Comments I was the only diver there (tourism overall was down in February due to the conflict in Israel - honestly it's not having any repercussions in Egypt except lower tourist numbers!), so had personal attention from the staff & divemaster. Because we were in Egypt for a long trip, I decided to just use rental gear except for my computer. They spent the time getting me into really good quality, good condition gear that fit me properly. Then Joe & I piled into a truck and headed off for the dive site. A very rocky beach entry (had I known I probably would've brought my very sturdy rock dive booties) which was tough on the balance, but once we were in the water the diving was absolutely fantastic. Super clear water, LOTS of fish and critters, Joe (Yusef) spent time ensuring that I saw everything, and he was careful to keep an eye on my air supply. I dove with them for only two days, and wished I could have stayed longer. I'll definitely be back! The hotel was basic but clean (don't get the corner room, it's just too small - luckily they weren't full and let us switch). The restaurant's breakfast wasn't great, but it was adequate. The lunches and dinners though were FANTASTIC. And you can order at the restaurant and they'll bring it to your room when it's ready so you can veg out and eat in your room - the food arrives piping hot. The staff were all super friendly and helpful. We loved Dahab. Much more than Sharm El Sheik.
