Comments Marsa Shagra, November 2025
Some of my Hungarian friends decided to go to Marsa Shagra for a week. Because of the good company I decided to join them. Going to the Red Sea from Europe is very convenient as regular or charter planes fly to Marsa Aalam from some European cities. Marsa Aalam is the center of many resorts on the seashore. Our destination: Shagra Village resort is about 40 km south of Marsa Alam. For me, flying from Boston to Marsa Alam was not easy. I had a couple of choices to get a connection, but each flight to Marsa Alam started early in the morning, therefore, I had to fly a day before and stay overnight. I chose Budapest where I met with my friends and flew to Marsa Alam by a charter airline (Smartwings). After about a 3-hour flight we arrived at Marsa Alam where several large and small buses and a bunch of agents from several resorts were waiting for the 180 people on the plane. After a lot of mismatches of people and luggage and final destinations we settled in two vans. After a forty-minute ride we arrived at Shagra Village Eco Resort with all plus one extra baggage.
