Comments We did only a few dives with Reggae Dive Center in Coron, so this review is honest but based on limited interaction. Dives were curtailed some by weather (Coast Guard closed the wreck diving area) and some by both some stomach issues for both me and my wife. None of that is on RDC.

Boat and operation - similar boat to what we dove from in Dauin. Outriggere, head on board. We mostly had to board a small panga to get out to te larger dive boats, due they said oto low tide in the morning. Upon return, the boat pulled to the shoew and lowered a narrow (12"?) wooden ramp at about a 45 degree angle which you walked down, into maybe 1 foot of water, so wet feet. Crew was helpful to get you down the ramp, but there were no bamboo "bannisters" like we had in Dauin.

Onboard, a bit chaotic. tanks everywhere, and many just stannding on the deck, not restrained, which made me nervous for my toes. Water avalabe, they serve lunch (rice,' abobo chicken, watermelon, maybe vegetable). They have coffee in a thermos and cookies in a tupperware.

DMs set up gear for the most part, though some of our fellow divers did their own - not sure if due to training course checkouts, or habit or just comfort.Helped you on with your fins, giant stride entry.

They often tied up to the lone buoy at a site by tying to the last boat in the chain, sometimes up to 4 boats. This led to 2 things, sometimes a 50-75 yard surfce swim to the down line area, and something that bothered me more, boats starting motors with divers in the water to move around, On one dive, our captain started the engine with divers next to and on the ladder and started moving forward as the boat we were tied to was leaving. One dver tried to straddle an outrigger to hang on. I am personally very uncomfortable with that procedure. But people in the water and moving boats and props (and I don't mean 1-2 boats) seem to be the norm. I as underwhelmed to put it ightly wityh their cncern for safety
This situation ws worst at a "dive" called Barracuda Lake. No barracuda, BTW. imagine 8-10 large boats, mostly with snorkelers, trying to get to the entry point for the lake, 21 steps up and 21 down, on rickety wooden steps made "safe" with nailed on bits of old tires. All this to get to a lake whose only feature was a 102F thermocline. You share with literally dozens of snorkelers. The dive is a joke, and the stairs are no joke in full gear.

I did only one wreck dive, and defer to a reader report from 2023 about the vis. It ws so bad on our dive, 5-10 feet, that I opted out of dives 2 and 3.

Which brings me to another observation. The boats leave at 8:30 or so in the morning, They do 3 dives and do not retun until 4-5 pm. This is fine with some, but felt inmterminable to me. I was easily the oldest diver on the boats I was on, but 30+ years (I am 66). Maybe that explains a lot.

No more than 4 divers per DM, seemed the average was 2-3. Again with limited daat here, but lots of dives, the level if skill with the staff, and their attention to detail seemed less than what we are used to.
