Comments This was my third trip to Mermaid Resort/Divers. The hotel is just at the edge of town and away from a lot of the noise from the bustling activity. The rooms are comfortable and the hotel is well kept. There is a restaurant on site and it is very good. The diving is conducted from their small shop at the waterfront, a two or three minute walk from the hotel. The shop has small lockers and shower facilities for your convenience. They serve complimentary water, coffee and tea for the divers, as well as a small bar for when the diving is done. The dive groups are small and the boats are fast and comfortable. There divemasters are great at finding all types of critters. The diving is diverse, offering the chance to see beautiful reefs, muck sites and a couple of small wrecks. The town of Sabang is a mixed bag. There are a lot of good restaurants to choose from and there are plenty of places to get a good, inexpensive massage. Sabang has a small, seedy underbelly in the center of town, that is easily avoidable for those who are offended by such things. Just stick to the main drag and the waterside to find great places to eat and spend plenty of time underwater. You won't be disappointed.

FROM THE AUTHOR. ...Please note that although this report was written in July 2018, the trip took place in April 2018. I missed changing that when I was filing the report. The difference in weather between April and July can definitely impact a dive trip.
