Comments [None As noted in previous reviews, this beautiful resort is nestled on a hillside, requiring varying numbers of steps, depending where your lovely bungalow is located. We were a group of 10 from the Marin Scuba Club,California, and were picked up by 2 vans at the Belmont Hotel(walking distance from Terminal 3 Manila airport). The comfortable ride was about 2 1/2 hours and a 10 minute boat ride where we were greeted warmly by staff, who also grabbed all of our luggage. We were gifted our own personalized reusable water bottles , nice ecological touch. After paperwork and unpacking out of the way, we went on a check out dive about 10 minutes away on one of their "bangkas".Their daily dive schedule is 8AM, 11AM, 3PM, 5:30-6PM. Usually no more than 6 divers on boat with 2 dive guides. Most dive sites are about 10 minutes away. Enzo and Jomar were the guides on my boat, making good decisions to turn back on strong negative currents, and finding incredible creatures: peacock mantis shrimp, pygmy seahorse, wunderpus octopus, ribbon eels, frog fish, cuttlefish, and plenty of nudibranchs.Blue ring octopus was spotted by another diver! Night dives were always available and sometimes a muck dive with viewing flying genard, bobbit worm, mimic octo. Some of us opted for a blackwater dive, very thrilling to see chambered nautilus, octopus, squid-tiny and translucent.I must say I was in awe of the variety and health and beauty of soft and hard corals, just breathtaking! I would get back on boat and say, "Could this get any better???"
About the resort, it is quite pleasant and relaxing with a nice pool and very affordable wonderful massages. We were basically confined to the resort(no town to wander around), but that was ok to just chill. The food was good, mostly Asian but Western dishes as well, staff wanted you to order your lunch after your breakfast, and sometimes order dinner after lunch, but very flexible if your order wasn't placed. A cute intimate bar near restaurant conveniently available.
I highly recommend a visit to Buceo Anilao, great efficient dive operation, beautiful bungalows, fantastic friendly staff, and awesome underwater world!!! I will return.
