Comments Tubbataha Reef area was way overrated. It was very expensive & the ship was not quite ready for the 1st class experience promised.

Below decks beds were box springs only for many thousands of dollars for the week! The captains quarters were double booked. Somebody was not happy. The food was terrible, but billed as gourmet fare. We're not demanding or snobby, but to be served dry wonderbread-like toast & jelly for breakfast was ridiculous considering the price.

The dive operations end of the ship were outstanding w/ brand new everything & pleasant guides.

Given the disappointing condition of the reefs, billed as "some of the best in the world", don't waste a lot of money to get here. It simply isn't worth it. Go for Indonesia instead where sea life makes this spot pale in comparrison.

Puerto Galera, in contrast, was lovely. El Galleon was a great place to stay & Asia Divers was superb. The kitchen there was great with all sorts of fare. There was a huge plankton bloom while we were there, but if the vis had been as it usually is, the sites would be very nice.

Atlantis Resort was closer into town & seemed really cheesy. Think Flintstones style rooms w/ lots of fake decorations.
