Comments Great diving and staff at both the resort and liveaboard. 2 days at the resort featured typical south Pacific beautiful corals and tropical fish. 3 days were "muck diving" with limited visibility, but we saw at least 2 dozen ghost pipefish of every variety. We are usually opposed to fish feeding, but being only feet away from 3 whale sharks for 45 minutes was an experience of a lifetime. The whale sharks are free to leave anytime, and usually leave at noon to go hunting as they only get a few shrimp every few minutes for showing up. Manila airport requires transfer after collecting your bags in a taxi from International to Domestic terminal through a very scary area of town and takes up to an hour, then you have to go back through security again. If you do it, use the Atlantis escort service. If you can fly into Cebu rather than Manila, do it. All domestic flights ran at least an hour late-allow generous time for connections.

UW Photo Comments Ghost pipefish everywhere at Dumaguete. About 7 whale sharks come in for fishermen's leftovers at an optional day excursion to Cebu. Also dove the Atlantis liveaboard at Tubbataha Reef with gorgeous walls, pygmy seahorses and huge baitballs.

(This info two years old) If you fly in to Manila on Philippine Air (and not United or other intl) you end up at the same terminal that the domestic flights to Cebu use. An advantage.
