Comments Atlantis Dumaguete is located adjacent to the beach in a tropical setting with lush vegetation throughout the property. The restaurant is located near the beach, and the spa and pool are closer to the center of the property. The rooms are large, and the Air Conditioning works; however, the showers use solar heating for the water, and during my week it was overcast every day and often raining – I never had hot water. The food was decent, but not as good as Atlantis Puerto Galera which I had stayed at the previous week.

The dive shop has plenty of space, rinse tanks and outdoor shower. The camera room is large and there are both 120v and 220v outlets.

My first diving day was a 3-tank dive to Apo island which is about a 30-minute boat ride. While there, severe weather came in and it rained heavily. Consequently, visibility was poor, and I didn’t see much. The remaining days were muck diving very close to the resort, and there were LOTS of cool little critters to find and photograph. There were lots of sea horses, dwarf cuttlefish, sea slugs of several varieties, skeleton shrimp, some ornate ghost pipefishes, tiny crabs and shrimps, and those tiny tiny frog fish. The muck diving was superb.
