Comments Please note that the star rating system really doesn't work for the focus of this dive trip. Both Atlantis with their dive operation and Blue Water with their photo expertise did an outstanding job. The goal of the trip was to provide a variety of photographic experiences to learn from. On any given dive a goal was set to find a specific type of small fish or small critter. Dive trips from the resort were all short and close to the resort. These focused primarily on muck diving and photographing small creatures. This was transformative to understand and see this world. Successfully photographing a half inch creature and then seeing the intricacies of it's body, face and shape is quite special. Apo Island offered what I see more typically on a tropical dive trip. Apo had an abundance of coral walls, reefs and tropical fish. Although an organize event designed to attract Whale Sharks, Oslob on Cebu Island did provide a wonderful opportunity to snorkel with these large beautiful creatures. The whale shark experience gives the Large Pelagics above a 5 star rating. On my third dive day at 60 minutes into the dive I rested my elbow on top of a Scorpion evil Fish and I was stung. The pain was immense and I immediately did safe emergency ascent to the boat. The boat crew promptly brought me back to Atlantis where dive staff members Alfred Abellar and Warfi Garrucho administered near boiling water to the wound while Marco Inocencio sent a cell phone image off to DAN. Within the minute Marco received a call back from Dan. With Dan's concurrence Atlantis continued the hot water treatment with my elbow emerged in a pail while staff was sent to the pharmacy to obtain Ibuprofem. I had to sit out diving for the remainder of the day but the care, concern and knowledge was very reassuring as the results could have been far more serious. Kudos to DAN and Kudos to Atlantis. Marty Snyderman was an Ambassador for Atlantis and worked closely with Mark Strickland from Blue water to produce seminars tied to the day's dive trips. All in all a great investment if you want to take your photographic skills up another level.
