Comments All of the people at this dive operation are pleasant and go out of their way to assist, and carried all of my equipment in and out of the panga boats. Some dive equipment malfunctions however. The knowledgeable instructors very helpful in pointing out small critters. Would take me out even when I was the only diver signed up. Especially nice for night dive to observe Mandarin mating. Local water sanitation can be dicey during rain runoff from local community.

One dive operator catering to Asian divers did not instruct the divers to be respectful when observing the Mandarins. They simply dumped a group of them off with flashlights as we were patiently waiting in the dark as one must do when observing them. This spooked them. Be wary of stonefish around coral.

UW Photo Comments Good variety for macro, including Mandarin mating behavior. Was able to view good variety on some single dives. Some dives are drift, making for challenging macro. Some dive instructors would not wait for UWPs, others were very helpful. However I would still recommend for UWPs, especially for nearby Verde Island which takes a 15-20 min boat ride from Puerto Galera, and is good for wide angle as well as macro.
