Comments Dove HMNZS Canterbury sunk in 2007. 57F and 20' viz reminded me of NJ and I wanted my drysuit rather than rental wetsuit, which included 7 mil + hooded T. Very professional operation with about 12 divers, including discover SCUBA during surface Interval but they had enough staff on board to make it all work well. I was in a group of 4 with a divemaster who showed us the best stuff on the ship and led us thru several parts of the ship. Since it was a calm, sunny day, the captain took us out to the edge of the bay and thru the "hole in the rock". Second dive was on a cliff face in the Pacific. Lots of 2-3' kelp, fish, stonefish, yellow morays and big nudibranchs. Also an interesting anemone that looked blue but turned pink when lit up. Not going to replace Great Barrier Reef as a dive destination but worthwhile if you are in New Zealand.
