Comments Overall excellent experience – this was my first semi-luxury liveaboard, and I went with a group of divers from a local dive shop. The entire crew was excellent, friendly, and hard-working. The cabins were somewhat narrow for two divers, but all of the accommodations and facilities were excellent. There were sporadic spots of rust, which is to be expected on a dive ship, but everything was in good working order.

The briefings were excellent – clear explanations in excellent English, diagrams, and plenty of time to ask questions. Having all of our rigs remain on the skiff while they were re-filled after every dive was great. Plenty of hot water to rinse gear with at the end of each dive, along with HOT washcloths on the skiff during each return, and plenty of lemonade and iced tea offered as we left the skiff.

I found the diving itself to be a little disappointing, compared to what I’d been led to expect. Visibility averaged ~50-60’, and the mantas and sharks kept their distance – but that might have been due to diver behavior.

Water was mostly calm for the week that I was on-board (Feb. 28 thru March 6), despite a couple of rain squalls that crossed our path.

Reporter and Travel

Dive Experience 251-500 dives
Where else diving Hawaii, Key Largo, Catalina Island (California), Monterey Bay (California), Bahamas
Closest Airport ROR Getting There Los Angeles -> Hawaii -> Guam -> Palau. Flight to Palau leaves at 0200, but the pilot was sick so we were delayed until 0600 when another pilot became available. The airport is relatively small, and the lounges weren't open. But one burger joint in the food court remained open.
