Comments Overview

This was my first trip to Roatan. CocoView (CCV) has been on my diving bucket list for years and I was very happy when my local dive shop offered it. We had a group of about two dozen. The group leaders from our shop divided us evenly between two boats so there was never any crowding. CCV staff met us at the airport and helped get our gear on their vehicles and we headed to the resort.

Dive Operation, Boat

At CCV you stay with the same boat, captain and divemaster for the duration of your stay. Captain Jorge and divemaster Selvin on Coco III (the Green Boat) were great. Both have worked there decades, like many other CCV staff I met. Gear was handled professionally and safely. Because we spent so much time with them they got to know individual quirks about gear setup (where we want a tank positioned, hose placement, etc.). They made sure we saw lots of stunning macro critters. I was 0-fer on sharks and turtles and big critters, but that’s a talk between me and Mother Ocean. Selvin’s ability to find things on the reef and make sure everyone with a camera go ... Subscribe to get the full story. For Subscribers Only  Active subscribers continue reading here

Good to hear things are same as always at CocoView I'm overdue for a return visit. i wonder about the Sand Fleas, no comment here regarding them.

Ah, the infamous No-See-Ums. Sorry about the oversight. Yes, they are still around and hungry as ever. In fact, during the orientation they advised keeping a bottle of repellent in your room and a second in your gear locker so you're always covered. The level of bother with them varied among our group. I didn't have many issues and wasn't as diligent in spraying as I should. Others, who were more attentive, got eaten up. Some, who never bothered with it, were like, "what bugs?"

I don't notice them...my husband gets eaten alive. I did dins some useful bug wipes for him to use.

The little darlings clearly enjoy a varied diet according to their own tastes.
