Comments	American Airlines new schedule, St.Louis to Kauai,return flight has a 5hr + layover in LA. They use small planes and they are packed. In my opinion the diving is OK but not great. I rather dive Maui or the Kona area. The diving might be better in late spring and early summer. Most dive shops (if not all) only dive the South region in the winter. Kauai is very beautiful and easy to explore. Our family loved the helicopter tour. The food & restaurants are not too expensive for an Island. A typical fish dinner runs $ 18.00 to $25.00 Beer $3.50 to $4.50. The dives are expensive $ 100 + for a two tank dive and $15 for Nitrox. The only real complaint I could have would be the airline and flights. In my opinion Hawaii is still a great trip and worth hauling all your dive gear too.
