Comments We have been regulars with Pacific Rim Divers for years and have continued to dive with them through a recent ownership change. We are happy to say that we are as thrilled as ever with the crew, boat and the dive experience. And the booking and paperwork processes seem to have improved under the new ownership.

Most of the divers on the boat are experienced divers/repeat customers. The ability to dive your tank and computer, along with expert dive guides sets Pacific Rim apart from other Kona operators. The boat was launched in 2017 and is in great condition. It holds up to 12 divers and the dive groups are no more than 6 divers. If there are 7 divers, then there are 2 guides in the water.

During 2024, we've seen hammerheads (5 up close and personal), mantas, dolphins, tiger sharks, reef sharks, a monk seal and many, many turtles. For the smaller stuff, dragon morays plus zebra, snowflake, viper, and conger eels, harlequin shrimp, frogfish (several times), 15+ species of butterfly fish, including Tinkers and blue stripe, and lots of interesting nudibranchs. Dive briefings are excellent, using books to point out what to look for and use of slates underwater to communicate. Allison and Alexia are our favorite dive guides.

We also appreciate that the boat will keep your dive gear if you are diving with them multiple days during your trip. They fully rinse everything, including after your final dive for the trip.
