Comments	Octopus Reef was, simply put, fantastic. We could not have asked for anything else of Rene. Rene started by asking each of the 3 of us about our diving experience and about any unique issues or concerns we may have had. We had our 15yr. old with us who was new to diving. Rene stayed in tune with each of us throughout the dives to ensure that everything was going fine. Prior to each of our 6 dives with her, she did an extensive briefing, even going so far as to show us pictures of fish we were likely to see. Then, throughout the dives, she wrote on her slate the names of the various fish we were viewing. Upon completion of the dive, she would get out her books and review unique fish that we saw that she had not anticipated. She even gave our 15 yr. old a copy of John Randall's Shorefish of Hawaii. It never left his side during our entire trip. Rene's genuine enthusiasm and extensive knowledge made all 6 dives extremely fun and educational. Rene did not turn the dives into reef races but rather, her relaxed pace ensured that we looked in nooks and crannys and found things that many others would have simply passed by without seeing. Among the sea life that she showed us were over a dozen sharks, a pair of rare Harlequin shrimp, an Orbicular velvet fish ( aka, butt fish, very rare), several cleaner stations, Octopus and many nudibranchs. Rene was very knowledgeable about her choices of dive sites and conditions and ensured that we saw a wide variety of fish and coral. We cannot say enough nice things about Rene. She made the entire experience very comfortable, relaxed and everything was very much customized to our wishes, desires and needs. We would heartily recommend Rene to anyone diving on Maui.
