Comments The good -

Liquid Cosmos operates a fairly new, purpose-built, dive boat on the Kohala coast of the Big Island. The boat is in excellent shape with modern electronics and safety equipment and carries a maximum of six divers. The boat briefing was thorough.

They visit sites the the other Big Island operators don't and many of those sites are unmarked. The crew was extremely knowledgeable about the sites and the habits of the marine life at those sites. They were very enthusiastic and environmentally conscious. The captain is an experienced commercial diver and our dive master was outstanding. She was very active in pointing out and identifying interesting life and underwater features. They provide a variety of fruit and homemade muffins as well as water bottles for the surface interval.

The bad -

I'm hard pressed to come up with anything bad. If pushed, I would say the the benches for donning your gear could be a little deeper but that's really it. This was hands-down the best dive charter that my wife and I have used. It felt like a personalized experience diving "secret" spots.

UW Photo Comments This is a six-pack charter so there are no camera tables etc. I gave my star ratings with this caveat. However, there is a freshwater camera tank and freshwater hose. I'm more of a casual photographer but, in my opinion, the variety of rare and endemic species we encountered merits 4 stars.
