Comments I've been diving with this operator since 2009. In addition to 3 weeks in July 2016, I did another week in September (prior to 2 weeks diving off Kauai). I deliberately planned to complete my 1000th dive during the current trip. LD is super operation with great staff and clean, comfortable boats. Even the newer (to LD) divemasters are great at identifying local species, looking for critters and keeping everyone safe and comfortable and maximizing dive times. My 1000th dive was on the Molokini Backwall; saw a pelagic manta ray near the end of the dive making it truly a special one. I'd recommend LD to divers of all experience levels. See my previous reviews for more details.
Saw MANY humpback whales on the way out to and return from dive sites. They migrate back from summering in Alaska and are in their native Hawaii waters from roughly mid-December to late March. We had a few days where viz was only 50-60 feet, due to unusual winds. Don't expect fantastic corals. Hawaii is volcanic with mostly hard corals, but you'll see underwater lava tubes and features you won't see almost anywhere else. I didn't rate Maui Co. diving 5 stars because of comparison to Fiji (definitely 5 stars there).

I checked the wrong box. You CAN dive your own profile (according to your computer), though on some dives it's necessary to keep the group together for pickup (Molokai, Molokini back wall).
