Comments What more can I say that didn't in previous reports about LD? By know, I don't need to ask what seat I've been assigned: it's always red one (closest to dive ladder on port side). With LD, you get the best options for diving in Maui county: Lanai for underwater lava formations, Molokai for hammerhead sharks, Molokini for easy dives in the crater and advanced dives on the back wall. LD's two Nekton 46' boats can take up to 18 customers, but I've never felt crowded or rushed. As other recent reporters have noted, the crew works like a well-oiled machine to get you in and out of the water safely. I've done the Molokai dive a few times, and it is rough--not for newbies or anyone who gets seasick or isn't prepared to FIN hard for 20-30 minutes looking for hammerheads in the blue. The three-tank Lanai charter on Thursdays is well worth it, since they go to sites they don't usually dive on the two-tank morning dives. These are drift dives looking for the more unusual critters and fish, and you may get lucky and see mantas or turtles. I've rarely done the afternoon dives, but these are close to the Maui coast and often include divers in training and relatively new divers. Good rental equipment (I have my own).
