Comments Typical Hawaii diving - hard corals, lots of rubble, not soft coral, sponges or sea fans. Interesting topology due to lava formations. A few sightings of endemic fish, including the rare flame angel.
The dive operation was great. Our divemaster, Jason, was very thorough and gave a lot of good attention to everyone. His signals were very clear underwater - he communicated very well. The worst dive was guided by a divemaster in training who kind of forgot he was leading the group and allowed us to mill around. Jason runs trips all around the Pacific Rim, so he is a good contact if you want to explore more locations with a competent group leader.

Kohala coast was really nice - not crazy like Kona - wide open spaces and lots of restaurants and things to do. Relaxed!
