Comments This was my first time to Grenada and I unsure of how I would find things given some of the write-ups I'd read online about Grenada. I was pleasantly surprised at the resort, the surrounding community, and the dive operations. Certainly a place I'd like to return to some day. I was in a group of about 15 divers, mostly experienced.

The resort was well maintained and the A/C units worked well and kept the rooms a comfortable 74 degrees. The rooms had a kitchenette with stove, small refrigerator, and a coffee maker. Water is not-potable but filtered water was available from the reception area. A water container is provided in the fridge but bring a water bottle for personal use. Water pressure and temperature could be an issue if a number of people are all showering at once.

The resort offers an all-inclusive food option but we opted for breakfast only. Breakfast was buffet style with eggs to order, pancakes, bacon, sausage, potatoes, local fruits, breads, cereal, coffee, and juices. Breakfast was listed as starting at 7am but rarely was ready before 7:30. Dive check-in was at 8:30 so this was a little tight for my tastes. Coffee and juice was generally available at 6:30. On 3 dive days, lunch could be ordered at breakfast to sped service at the restaurant before the afternoon dive. For dinner, there were plenty of options to eat within walking distance of the resort. The Container Park was a popular choice with a variety of offerings. For a quick meal and an ice cream cone for dessert, try the New Moon Restaurant just outside the resort.

The group signed up for a 14 dive package with a night dive and extra dives at additional cost. Dives were a mixture of wrecks, drifts and stationary reefs. There were two or three dive guides in the water on all dives. Generally we broke into 4-6 diver groups. Water temps averaged 84 degrees depending on depth. On one shallow reef my computer read 88 degrees. I wore a 3mm shorty only because my BC flopped around too much without it. Even though the temps were warm, I didn't notice excessive coral bleaching. In fact, they looked quite healthy considering what I've experienced at other Caribbean locations. There weren't many large pelagics or turtles but plenty of octopi. On shark reef, we noted over 20 octopi out during the day on a single dive. Lionfish are hunted and it was obvious in that few were seen on local reefs. Large lionfish were only noted on the outer reefs. For me, the crowning dive was the wreck of the Bianca C. A luxury liner known as the "Titanic of the Caribbean". It's deep but can be dove within recreational limits. Overall, this was a great trip and I encourage anyone who hasn't been to Grenada to go.
